The day starts with a 12 km drive from Sankri to Taluka. This drive, surrounded by Deodar and Bamboo trees with streams flowing alongside, is a nature lover’s dream. Upon reaching Taluka, the day continues with a 9 km trek to Pauni Garaat. As you navigate the trail, the rhythm of the Supin River and the shelter of Walnut, Pine, and Cedar trees create an ambiance of tranquil wilderness. A highlight of this trek is the village of Gangar, nestled on the river’s opposite bank. Pauni Garaat, the endpoint for the day, is situated in a vast clearing along the trek’s route.

After a refreshing yoga session, the day’s 8 km trek from Pauni Garaat to Kalkattiyadhaar begins. As the trail winds upwards, breathtaking views of the Banderpoonch and Swargarohini mountain ranges come into sight. The trek reaches its zenith at Kalkattiyadhaar, where the campsite offers panoramic views of the Himalayas, including the iconic Mt. Black Peak.

This day offers the pinnacle of the journey. Starting early, trekkers will experience the radiant glow of the snow under the morning sun. The trail takes adventurers to the summit of Har Ki Dun, where one is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and valleys. The valley itself has much to explore, including alpine meadows and glacier moraines.

After catching a mesmerizing sunrise at Kalkattiyadhaar, trekkers will embark on the return leg of the journey. The descent to Pauni Garaat is serene, with the path unfolding through richly biodiverse forests and alongside the ever-present Supin River.

The last leg of the trek retraces the route to Taluka, with the added charm of “bichu ghaas” dotting the path. Upon reaching Taluka, a vehicle will be ready to take adventurers back to Sankri, where they can rest and reminisce about their journey.
