The Witness of the Unseen

This path focuses on the deep interior of the Bastar plateau. We move away from the common roads to follow a transition through the most significant cultural and geographic landmarks of the region. From the 10th-century stone wonders of Barsur to the vertical spray of Tirathgarh, the journey is defined by the “Soak.” We prioritize the silence of the forest and the authenticity of the tribal witness, culminating in a rare entry into a hidden village where life remains governed by nature and the Shaman’s rituals.

Phase 01: The Plateau Entry (Day 1)

Day 1: Arrival in Jagdalpur. A slow introduction to the capital of the frontier. After a brief exploration of the local rhythms, we transition to the Bodal outpost to establish our base in a traditional homestay.

Day 2: A day dedicated to the artisanal heritage of the region. We visit a Bell Metal (Dhokra) artist village to witness the ancient lost-wax casting process. This is followed by an entry into the Kanger Valley, where we observe the tiered cascades of Tirathgarh within the national park.

Day 3: A drive to Barsur, an ancient site holding the architectural remains of the 10th century. We spend the day witnessing the giant Ganesha monoliths and the twin temples, followed by a visit to the Muria tribe monoliths—the stone records of ancestral history.

Day 4: A day of vast scales. We visit the seasonal mists of Mendri and Tamda Ghoomar, followed by a transition to the Michnar ridgeline for a panoramic view of the plateau. The day concludes at the massive horseshoe curve of the Chitrakoot waterfall.

Day 5: The core of the frontier. We visit a Shaman’s village to observe the spiritual traditions of the region, followed by an entry into a hidden village of Bastar. Here, we witness the purest form of tribal culture, share a traditional meal, and explore the forest lifestyle before returning to Bodal.

Day 6: A final morning witness of the forest rhythm followed by the transition back to Jagdalpur for departure.

Our field team is composed of local masters who belong to these forests. By working with those who have a lifelong bond to the landscape, we ensure the journey is culturally respectful and safe.

Economic Integrity:

We operate on a protocol of professional reinvestment. Every local partner and field master is paid a transparent, industry-standard fee, ensuring that the logistics of the trip directly support the people and the heritage of the Bastar frontier.

Operational Mastery:

We leverage long-standing relationships with tribal elders to ensure our presence in hidden villages is welcomed and respectful, allowing for an authentic witness of their lifestyle.
