The Ancient Altitudes
This sequence focuses on the “Soak” of the Chhattisgarh highlands. We transition from the lowlands of Jharkhand into a geography of deep valleys and plateau-top plains. The route follows the ridgelines of Jashpur, where the forest meets the sky, and moves toward the high-altitude silence of Mainpat. It is an unhurried study of the landscape—moving from the roar of hidden falls to the stillness of Tibetan monasteries—ensuring the pace allows for a true witness of the highland soul.
Phase 01: The Gateway (Day 1)
Day 1: Arrival in Ranchi. A steady transition into the Jashpur outpost. Evening spent at Rani Dah waterfall, documenting the first contact between the jungle and the plateau edge.
Phase 02: The Ridge & The Peak (Day 2)
Day 2: The Ridge Sequence. Riding through Sarudih, Deshdekha, and Kinkel. We pause for an unhurried hike up Madheshwar Parvat, observing the vast panoramic view of the entire Jashpur plateau.
Phase 03: The Deep Highlands (Day 3)
Day 3: Sanna & Pandrapat. Moving into the highest reaches of the state. We cross the high plains of Pandrapat and navigate the trails leading to the massive spray of Makkarbhajja waterfall.
Phase 04: The Tibetan Arc (Day 4)
Day 4: Mainpat Transition. Leaving Jashpur for the mist-covered hills of Mainpat. A day dedicated to the Tibetan heritage of the region—exploring the monasteries and the quiet rhythms of the high-altitude settlement.
Phase 05: The Riverine Path (Day 5)
Day 5: Gullu & Churi. Returning toward Jashpur via the forest trails. Pausing at the hidden falls of Gullu and Churi, ending the day by the quiet waters of Mayali Dam.
Phase 06: Final Return (Day 6)
Day 6: Final morning witness of the plateau. A steady transition back to Ranchi (IXR) for departure.
